Finished

We arrived! The journey of 200 kilometers plus has finished! My feet thank me, and I am not sure they will ever be the same.  I have much to ponder as I allow the past two weeks to download from my mind to my heart.

Parting thoughts

  • The trek was physically harder than I thought it would be.
  • You cannot ignore pain. It follows you wherever you go.
  • Rest is essential to our well-being.
  • Healing happens.
  • Sacrifice is a reminder of how little you really need; and, it’s good for the will.
  • There are lots of incredibly nice people in the world. Never give up on the goodness of mankind.
  • God’s creation is magnificent.
  • It may not be in our timetable, however, The Way, always provides.

One last story

After checking into my hotel, I met a man who walked from Ireland to Santiago. He left his home on April 3rd of this year, the day after he retired. He walked 3,000 kilometers (1,864 miles). Five of his closest friends flew to Santiago to be here when he arrived. They celebrated with Champagne and tapas in the small lobby of our hotel. Anything is possible, when you put your mind to it.

Thank you

Thank you for your prayers, and thank you for allowing me to carry your prayer intentions on this trek to Santiago. St. James, pray for us.

Here are some pictures from today.
