Dear Daughter

Dear Daughter,

You are beautiful. You are lovely. You are precious. Created uniquely to fulfill a design that only you can fulfill. Created like no one else for a purpose that was etched in your heart since the beginning. You were created to create – to create beauty, to create what captivates, to create new life, in whatever form you bring life, to someone or something. You were made to dream; dreams planted in your heart that began their whisper from the time you were young. Dream courageously, daughter. Share your dreams. Dream always.

Discover who you really are not who the world says you are. The world is wrong. The world does not have your best at heart. The world does not know you and it really does not care to, but your Creator does. He knows who He created. He knows your most unique traits and all He created is truly magnificent. He does not make mistakes and He certainly does not settle for less in any of His creations. Get to know your Creator and you will discover yourself and Him. The essence of relationship will be revealed. Remember whose you are, a daughter of the Most High King, and that makes you a princess – royalty, without question.

A princess should be treated as such, with dignity, respect, courteousness, and honor. Any suitor that comes into your life should show you these qualities and nothing less. Again, do not settle, for your worth is that of a princess. “The King’s daughter is all glorious within; Her clothing is interwoven with gold” (Psalm 45:13). Your glory, your radiance comes from within. It is housed by the external “interwoven” garment adorned with gold. Outward beauty is seen by the eyes. Inward radiance is experienced by the heart. Your suitor’s heart should be drawn by your radiance not your beauty. Beauty is ephemeral (lasting but a season), but radiance is everlasting. Share your radiance and seek to uncover your glory within. Daughter, the Creator will show you. Just ask Him.

Hold fast to your convictions, convictions that your Creator places in your heart, for He knows what is best for you. Don’t give in to what the world says. The world would rather see you compromise. Stand with others who share your convictions. You will find like-minded people; it may just take some searching. Settling for just any acquaintances will compromise your stance. Standing alone may cause you to lose fortitude and resilience. Seek godly companions, daughter. God will provide.

Authenticity is hard to live. Masks are easily accumulated over time and soon you may find you are hiding. Authenticity requires vulnerability, an open heart willing to be seen; willing to be discovered so radiance might shine forth. A covered heart does not emit glory. Daughter, where might you have accumulated masks that need removal? Living authentically brings joy. Theodore Roosevelt said, comparison is the thief of joy. You are a unique design, like no other ever created. Keep your joy. Let not the thief tempt you into comparison.

And lastly, to my daughter, to all daughters, me included, I pray that we will uncover our radiant heart for all to see God’s glory.
